Meat in foley has a specific problem — too dry and it sounds like fabric, too wet and it sounds like a slap. The trick is the layering, and these 57 meat clips were recorded with that in mind. Sizzling steak straight onto a hot pan with the initial water-flash intact, the dull woody chop of a butcher's knife into raw shoulder, the cold squelch of bare hands pressing ground beef into patties, and the slap-pat of forming meatballs against a board.
Cooking-channel creators pull the sizzle takes because the audio half of a sear sells the visual better than any voiceover. Animation and stylised work uses the squelch and chop material for body-impact foley — the moisture in raw meat translates cleanly to wound foley when reverbed correctly. The meatball-pat clips also work outside food entirely, as percussive layers in cartoon hits. The full pack is a free download with no signup and no attribution chase.
