Step onto a path in October and the leaves underfoot do most of the storytelling — dry curls cracking under boots, damp ones pressing without breaking, a thicker drift that swallows the heel entirely. These 58 leaf recordings work that range hard: crunchy autumn leaves at three moisture levels, the long rustling leaves sound of wind moving through a canopy, single specimens being crumpled close to the mic, and the wider drift of leaves falling steadily over a forest floor.
Cinematographers shooting silent footage rely on these for the post sound pass — a slow autumn walk needs the right crunch tempo, not just any crunch. Game environment designers layer the canopy rustle as the breathy top of a forest bed; without it the wood feels like a still photograph. ASMR creators take the close crumple takes straight. Children's animation pulls the rustling leaves sound effect for magical-forest scenes where the trees feel half-alive. Free to grab for any project, no attribution.
